The tune comes from the popular orchestral suite The Planets , specifically the movement Jupiter, the Bringer of Jolity. It is named after the town in Essex. Diana, Prin­cess of Wales re­quest­ed this hymn be sung at her wed­ding, say­ing it had "al­ways been a favourite since school­days. " To complete the great circle it was also sung at her fun­er­al in 1997.

De melodie komt uit de populaire orkestrale suite The Planets, in het bijzonder de beweging van Jupiter, de Brenger van Jolity. Het is vernoemd naar de stad in Essex. Diana, prinses van Wales gevraagde deze hymne wordt gezongen op haar bruiloft, zeggen dat het was altijd een favoriet sinds schooltijd geweest. Om de grote cirkel werd ook gezongen op haar begrafenis in 1997 te voltooien.
