Suite in A Minor BWV997 composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. 1685-1750. Arranged by Dausend. For Flute, Guitar. Sheet Music. Published by Zimmermann. PE.ZM34160. The edition presented here is an adaptation of the so-called 'second' lute suite whose original instrumentation, however, still remains uncertain. Judging by formal aspects, this piece has more in common with the Italian Sonata di chiesa than with the suite. But as this term is still asscociated with this particular piece, it has also been kept for this edition. The arrangement closely follows the urtext of the New Bach Edition while aiming at the same time to give the bass part an individual character.

De hier gepresenteerde versie is een aanpassing van de zogenaamde 'tweede' luit suite waarvan de oorspronkelijke instrumentatie, blijft echter nog onzeker. Afgaande op formele aspecten, dit stuk heeft meer gemeen met de Italiaanse Sonata di Chiesa dan met de suite. Maar zoals deze term wordt nog steeds asscociated met dit stuk, het is ook voor deze editie gehouden. De regeling volgt de Urtext van de New Bach Edition, terwijl die gericht zijn op hetzelfde moment aan de baspartij een eigen karakter te geven.
