DoppelgÃnger is a walz in the key of f aeolian. my favorite key. It is one of my very first serious compositions, written my freshman year in college. It is very elementary compared to the kind of piano pieces I find myself writing nowadays, but it still holds a special place in my heart. Like many pieces I write, I consider it a programmatic work. I don't like to be too specific in my description of the imagery I am portraying, as to not undermine the listener's imagination. The title pretty much says it all.
