This piece was composed based on a poem by the contemporary writer, Professor Ma Sen. I am the tree, I am the flower, I am the soil. I am the wind, I am the water, I am the valley. For one day I fly, one day I walk, one day I pause. One day, I rooted myself in the valley by the water in the soil. I am no longer the tree, no longer the soil. I am no longer the wind, no longer the water, no longer the valley. I am. After I read this poem, a string of inspirations came to me. I thought of Ma Zhiyuan's poetry. I thought of life, as well as music. Strongly aroused, I quickly grasped the structure of this piece in my mind. Since the original poem is so thoughtfully profound, in order to present its philosophical and abstract aspects, I did not choose to unfold the piece by the melody. instead, I tried to maneuver the sounds of a chamber ensemble for soprano, flute and percussion. including slapstick, snare drum, wind chimes, suspended cymbal, xylophone, claves, wind gong and timpani. to depict the imagery and atmosphere of the original poem. The piece derives its form from the structure of the poem. Besides the introduction, it comprises two sections. After the eighteen-measure introduction comes the first section, which centers on the reciting soprano, with the flute and percussion alternating and responding to each other. In the second section, the three are then fully integrated. For the soprano part, I employed a chanting style from the traditional Chinese theatre, hopefully to enrich the flavor and expression of the poem. ※ The piece was commissioned by the New Aspect Cultural and Educational Foundation. Upon its completion in 1985, it was premiered at the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on the April 14th of the same year, by soprano Liu Sai-yun, flutist Lu Mei-hsin, percussionists Ju Tzong-ching, Cheng Ji-hung and Chang Jue-wen. 我是. 這首樂曲是根據當代作家馬森教授的詩譜寫而成。. 原詩為：. 我是樹 我是花 我是泥土. 我是風 我是水 我是山谷. 一天飛 一天走 一天停住. 一天 我深植在那山谷 那水旁 那泥土. 我 不再是樹 不再是泥土. 我 不再是風 不再是水 不再是山谷. 我是. 當我讀完這首詩時，心中油然發起一股遐念，我想到馬致遠的詩，想到人生，想到了音樂，在強烈的創作慾望下，心中很快地就完成了樂曲的結構。. 這首詩本身的意境非常深遠，為了表達出它的哲學性與抽象，我不考慮以旋律為主導的方式，而以女高音、長笛與打擊樂器. 拍板、小鼓、風鈴、吊鈸、木琴、響木、風鑼、定音鼓. 室內樂組合，來襯托詩的氣氛與意境。 這一首樂曲的曲式，是來自這首詩的結構，整曲除序奏外，略分兩大段；十八小節的序奏後導入詩的主題，這是第一段的開始，女高音以朗誦為主，長笛與打擊樂成對答式交替進行。第二段，女高音的吟唱與長笛、打擊樂三者合而為一，整曲女高音的部分，作曲者嘗試以傳統戲曲說唱的方式，以求更能表達詩的韻味與意境。. ※本曲為新象文教基金會委託創作之作品，1985年完成，同年4月14日於台北國父紀念館世界首演，演出者：聲樂家女高音劉塞雲，長笛家呂美馨，擊樂家朱宗慶、鄭吉宏、張覺文。. Dit stuk werd samengesteld op basis van een gedicht van de hedendaagse schrijver, Professor Ma Sen. Ik ben de boom, ik ben de bloem, Ik ben de bodem. Ik ben de wind, ik ben het water, ik ben het dal. Voor een dag vlieg ik, op een dag loop ik, ik op een dag pauzeren. Op een dag, ik geworteld mezelf in de vallei van het water in de bodem. Ik ben niet langer de boom, niet langer de bodem. Ik ben niet langer de wind, niet meer het water, niet langer het dal. Ik ben. Nadat ik las dit gedicht, een reeks van inspiraties kwam naar me. Ik dacht van Ma Zhiyuan poëzie. Ik dacht aan het leven, evenals muziek. Sterk gewekt, ik snel in mijn hoofd greep de structuur van dit stuk.
