PL.0513. a jewel in the repertoire of Communion anthems. commissioned for the Sewanee Conference in 2001. energetic, yet filled with simple and graceful nuance between choral and organ parts. excellent companion to White's "Bread of Heaven", a Paraclete top-selling anthem A lyrical work for both choir and organ. The writing is mainly modal and homophonic. Reminiscent of a Sacred Harp style, White never takes you far afield. The organ accompaniment proves to be helpful to the singers while steering away from simply doubling the vocal parts. The results here are very satisfying. The text is an English translation of a seventeenth-century Latin text which is also the basis of the hymn "O Bread of Life from Heaven". While Eucharistic in theme, the tree stanzas also contain, naturally, a thanksgiving emphasis, lending to varying possibilities throughout the fall season. - "Cross Accent" September 2005.

Het schrijven is vooral modale en homofone. Doet denken aan een Sacred Harp stijl, Wit neemt je nooit ver weg. Het orgel begeleiding blijkt nuttig zijn om de zangers tijdens het sturen weg van gewoon een verdubbeling van de zangpartijen. De resultaten zijn hier zeer bevredigend. De tekst is een Engels vertaling van een zeventiende-eeuwse Latijnse tekst die ook de basis van de hymne "O Brood des Levens uit de Hemel". Terwijl eucharistische in thema, de boom stanza's bevatten ook, natuurlijk, een dankzegging nadruk kredietverlening aan uiteenlopende mogelijkheden gedurende de herfst seizoen. - "Cross Accent" september 2005.
