Dramatic and sweeping, this work is based on folk music of the middle east, where the composer lived as a boy. Some of the material is traditional folk music and some is original material created by Dr. Chobanian in the same style. This is a well balanced three-movement work that uses the entire band to its full effect. Frequent meter changes, double and triple tonguing in the brass will make this work challenging. Dramatisch en vegen, is dit werk gebaseerd op volksmuziek van het Midden-Oosten, waar de componist woonde als jongen. Een deel van het materiaal is de traditionele volksmuziek en wat is origineel materiaal dat is gemaakt door Dr Chobanian in dezelfde stijl. Dit is een goed uitgebalanceerd driedelig werk dat de hele band gebruikt om zijn volledige effect. Frequente meterwijzigingen, twee-en driepersoonskamers tonguing in de koperen maakt dit werk uitdagend. Percussionisten zal het gebruik van unieke kleuren houden in dit spannende compositie. I.
