Te Deum Laudamus. by Richard Proulx is a setting of Dryden's translation, itself a most interesting comparison with the Prayer Book version, for SATB choir with some divisi, accompanied solely by handbells and tambourine, with optional flute and cello parts. doubling the soprano and bass vocal lines respectively. Much use is made of the traditional chant of the Te Deum, and there are one or two passages for solo bartione. an intriguing exercise, and one that makes a worthwhile alternative to more traditional ways of singing the Te Deum.
