ISBN 978-1-877564-05-5. Parlor Music is a dance piece with clear references to Astor Piazzola and mid-twentieth century jazz, among other things. There are two predominant moods in the piece. In the first half there is melancholy and introspection, like with the woman in the beautiful drawing by Louisa Varalta by the same title. Here the dance movement becomes at times almost completely internalized, particularly where the vibraphone with its evocative pitch bends and the accompanying music draw the listener inwards. At other times the soft dance rhythms, instead of drawing the dancer on her feet only help to add to the loneliness and stillness of the moment. In the second half, there is a very short musical 'invitation' and the dance suddenly begins. It is still driven by a manic energy rather than pleasure and it ends as abruptly as it began.

Er zijn twee overheersende stemmingen in het stuk. In de eerste helft is er melancholie en introspectie, zoals bij de vrouw in de mooie tekening van Louisa Varalta door dezelfde titel. Hier de dansbeweging wordt soms bijna volledig geïnternaliseerd, met name wanneer de vibrafoon met zijn suggestieve pitch bends en de bijbehorende muziek trekken de luisteraar naar binnen. Op andere momenten alleen de zachte dans ritmes, in plaats van het tekenen van de danser op haar voeten helpen om toe te voegen aan de eenzaamheid en de stilte van het moment. In de tweede helft, er is een zeer korte musical 'uitnodiging' en de dans plotseling begint. Het wordt nog steeds aangedreven door een manische energie in plaats van plezier en het eindigt zo abrupt als het begon.
