Based on this song, Barbara Heller composed the duo 'Lalai, Schlaflied zum Wachwerden. ' for violin. violoncello. and piano in 1989 - in memory of 50 Iranian women who were murdered under the regime of Khomeini. 'Lalai' is now available in a version for 4 bassoons for the first time. The composer has arranged the simple charming folk tune and the desperate cries for help for bassoon ensemble with a fine sense of detail. The sonorous sound of the bassoons gives the work its very own sound atmosphere. An impressive work of emotional depth.
