PL.0202FS. The late William Ferris composed this large, festive work specifically for the dawn of the new millenium and it received its premiere on January 2, 2000. It is based on the words of Psalm 118. A fanfare at the opening provides the sturdy musical material for the entire work. The choir first enters with the words, "It is good to give thanks to the Lord. " The opening section is full of wonderful sonority for choir, brass and organ. A repeat of the opening fanfare leads to the middle section, based on modal harmonies and reflective in spirit. The fanfare returns and opens the final section with triumphant words, "This is the day that the Lord has made. " The work ends in a very declamatory manner. This is a splendid new festival work that can be performed in any liturgical season.

Wijlen William Ferris componeerde dit grote, feestelijke werk speciaal voor het aanbreken van het nieuwe millennium en het kreeg zijn première op 2 januari 2000. Het is gebaseerd op de woorden van Ps 118. Een fanfare bij de opening biedt de stevige muzikale materiaal voor het hele werk. Het koor binnenkomt met de woorden: "Het is goed om dank aan de Heer te geven. "De sectie opening is vol met prachtige sonoriteit voor koor, messing en orgel. Een herhaling van de opening fanfare leidt naar het middelste gedeelte, op basis van modale harmonieën en reflecterende geest. De fanfare keert terug en opent het laatste deel met triomfantelijke woorden: "Dit is de dag die de Heer heeft gemaakt. "Het werk eindigt in een zeer declamatorische manier. Dit is een prachtig nieuw festival werk dat in een liturgische tijd kan worden uitgevoerd.
