Playable on any saxophone (as a universal saxophone part is provided, and two different piano accompaniment parts) this sounds great on Eb or Bb saxes. Largely in concert C major (though lifts to G major for the final section) it has an improvisory feel (though all notes are given; no improvisation is needed). Ballade features on the Trinity College London Jazz sax syllabus in both Eb and Bb sax options. Complete with lip slurrs and subtle jazz inflections, 'Ballade' (around grade 7 standard) is perfect for jazz and classical musicians alike. .
