The seventh movement in my Requiem - my first major work. I'm only 16, so don't expect perfection! This movement starts to conclude the Requiem, returning to the main themes of Introit, Pie Jesu and Dies Irae, while elements of the Offertorium and Agnus Dei feature more subtly (the Sanctus is not quoted due to the fact that it was the last movement to be written). This movement also features the first of only two 'funereal' parts in the Requiem. I agreed with Faure's idea of death not being an end, and more of a doorway, so while the overall feeling of the piece is mournful (and in the case of the Dies Irae, terrifying), there is a sense of hope. As such, there are very few traditionally funereal parts in the piece. Personally my least favourite, but don't let that put you off.
