This piece is my 3rd piece (the second one before it has been disowned by me because I did not like it) that I have composed. When I was composing this, I was still experimenting with rhythms, chords, and jumps. This piece is widely considered by many that I personally know as their favorite out of the pieces they have heard, and I would still have to agree with them. This piece, while nothing overly special, has an almost classical/choral feel to it. I’m not 100% sure of what it is exactly, and I’m the composer of it. But this piece is extremely enjoyable. A note about the time signature in Ritual, it is 13/8. While it is an impractical time signature to actually count, once a person gets into the piece, the rhythms begin to come naturally without counting, or at least I find it that way.
Also to note, this piece is very dark. I do intend on trying/attempting/making a brighter version in the near future. Also, just to clarify, Dance is not a funeral march (one of my teachers said it sounded like a funeral march, so it is a bit of a joke for me right now).
Feel free to comment or review, or critique any of my pieces. I’m not gonna get any better if I don’t know ways in which I can improve.
