This arrangement of the much-loved Christmas classic
offers the original melody, as sung on continental
Europe, set to the English language words. These words
belong to the later 19th century, inaccurate, version
of the tune, which means that very few English speakers
are aware of the beauty of Gruber's original melody. It
is here set for SATB choir, guitar (as in the
original), optional keyboard and two obbligato flutes.
