Clair de lune
Musicnotes Edition: Full performance and recording rights and unlimited prints.

Product Information

From the third movement of Debussy's Suite bergamasque, this is one of his most well-known works. Clair de lune means "moonlight" in French, and as you play through the lush piano solo, you can imagine the night sky and all its wonder. Watch for the dynamic contrast, and bring out the melodic notes that appear along with a beautiful flowing accompaniment.

Very good quality score

I purchased this piece to use at a piano camp and then later at a few solo piano recitals. This is probably one of my favorite classical pieces written after the end of the Romantic period. Difficulty - Like most of Debussys piano music, expect a lot of chords and arpeggios, but with practice it is easily playable by most intermediate pianists. Arrangement - Not much to say about this one. The piece was written for piano, and this is for piano. Accuracy - I really wanted to give this one a 5, and would have except for one tiny detail. In measure 18, my Urtext copy has another C in the right hand in the second beat (the chord would be C, Bb, C; this copy does not include the lower C). Except for that, the accuracy is very good.
